How to decide what data you should collect in a User Research study?
We all know that user research is relevant, but when it comes to starting an actual study and setting up the methodology - it seems to take forever to conduct.
This is why we created Tacit: a single solution for setting up user research, creating a study, collecting - and analysing the data.
Step 1: explore our demo and see what data sources would you like to include?
In case you're new to biometric research, we would definitely suggest exploring our demo feature.
After creating an account, please go to https://tacit.pro/demo and approve the requested permissions.
After waiting for the modules to load, you should be able to see exactly how multimodal biometric looks like live.
The product will collect:
Your facial coding and emotions from your microexpressions
Your speech sentiment analysis extracted from the tone and pitch of your voice
Your eye tracking noted by a heatmap displayed over the screen
Speech to text conversion showing a transformation of speech to text and looking for the sentiment in the voice of your words
Head, hand and upper body movement - showing subtle changes in your posture
Overall emotion for 1 to 100: showing a summary of your state and basic appearance from the above mentioned metrics.
Step 2: How to decide what metrics to collect and which metric gives you the right insights?
As you probably know by now, our system has a completely scalable and affordable solution called Lite and a more robust and granular version harnessing the growing power of wearables called Pro.
Generally speaking:
Lite uses physical data captured via camera and microphone, while
Pro captures up to 11 different biometric data points by connecting to sleek wearables.
In order to decide if you need lite or Pro, we created a brief overview of the most common research process:
Step 3: Do you need Neuro or Cardio data; is facial coding enough or too much?
In order to find out what insights you want or need in a given study, we created a cheat sheet to assist you.
Feel free to explore various use-cases and project type examples we listed and get inspired for your next research study!
Step 4: Start a study or duplicate one of our community templates
Now that you are aware of/ or you decided what you want, all that is left is to create a study flow or copy one of our templates and share the link with your users/respondents!
In case you missed it, please feel free to check out our blog post on how to get started and check out on our recent success stories with Tacit templates.
